At the AGM of Neston & District Chamber of Trade at the Brewers Arms on Wednesday 2nd May, a new committee was voted in.
Stepping up to take the Chair is David Ince of My Gift Place, taking over from Rightway’s David Clarke. Lucy Brooks stepped down as Treasurer after five years, with David Ince Snr appointed in her place. Andrew McLoughlin of MGC Solicitors remains as Vice Chair with Jan Jones as Secretary. Three new roles were created, with Nic Phipps of Harry Phipps Ltd becoming Membership Secretary, Paul Smith of the Brewers Arms joining as Marketing Secretary and Simon Jones of Hawk as Social Media Secretary.
The creation of this new committee was decided on by members over the last couple of meetings, in an effort to modernise the organisation and create new opportunities going forward. The vision, as discussed last night, will include a move towards more social-style meetings, collective promotional efforts and bringing experts in to meetings in order to help members with a variety of aspects of business.
The committee will now meet to discuss the way forward, with ideas, including a possible change of name of the organisation, to be presented to the wider membership at the next meeting in June.
Any Neston-based business people who would like to get involved, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
The next meeting will be at the Brewers Arms, Park Street, Neston on Wednesday 6th June at 6pm.
